Researched film festival and seniors’ industry to identify need, competition, SWOT, and potential sponsors and funders for festival to promote an age-positive culture shift. Resulted in 3 year business plan that acted as foundation of festival.Brought a 3-day festival to life in 9 months. Inaugural festival saw over 600 tickets sold with 98% of the audience Very to Extremely satisfied with the quality of their experience and 91% ready to recommend the festival to others.Recruited, oriented and trained 80 volunteers for 2018 festival, board of directors and sub-committees. Continued to grow volunteer pool to over 100 volunteers and receive a 100% recommendation rating. 100% of volunteers were Very to Extremely satisfied with their experience.Created systems, processes and implemented software to ease the project management and administrative burden. This allowed the festival to activate new programming and to grow partnerships while maintaining staffing levels. Pivoted operations during the pandemic to not only take the festival online but increase programming by adding monthly screenings between October and May allowing the festival to open up to new audience sectors. Post Covid, lead team to present live broadcast programming allowing audience members to attend in person or online.Grew festival resources from $25K for 2018 festival to over $125K for 2022 allowing the festival to grow its programming, pay its artists and extend its reach across Alberta and Canada.Built a strong network within the seniors for-profit and non-profit industry, arts community and research/academia world to create awareness of the festival and partnerships to amplify shared messaging.Educated self on regulations regarding gaming and serving alcohol for raffles/events to ensure AGLC compliance and reduce risk to festival.Recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee (Alberta) Medal for volunteerism in media and film with a focus on ageing and older persons.

Conceptualized, created and managed a 1-year sabbatical with husband that saw us move between work exchanges, house sitting and vacationing every 4-8 weeks. Administrative oversight of the office of the Senior Associate Dean, Education (SADE) and the Council of Associate Deans, Education (CADE).Management of projects (including preparation of project reports) related to the educational programs (strategic educational goals, business plans, etc.) and their associated reporting.Created and implemented a consolidated budget model for the educational departments to assist CADE with financial oversight. Assisted SADE with grant preparation, management and reporting.Took on the role of research team member in Tanzania studying the morphometrics of cleft lip/palate while ensuring biometric data was accurate.
