After being away from radio for a bit, the siren song has called my name, luring me into gadget sales of all things. Really though, my entire career was helping people solve problems, so here I am again, because Angry Audio and StudioHub products do just that.I’ll be working for Michael Dosch, the Catfish. We first started working together 35 years ago at the old PR&E. He was a young engineer, tasked with the development of the RadioMixer, while I was selling BMX consoles. Designing products with Jack Williams looking over your shoulder is certainly an educational process, and the products Mike worked became pillars of success in the growth of the company.After some time, Mike and I ended up together again at Telos, where he and Steve Church had developed the Axia brand. I had sold disruptive technology before, but this was a major blow to the established suppliers. They really upset convention with their approach, and the Telos Alliance pioneered the movement towards AoIP.Radio has changed in the 42 years that I have been involved. Big digital audio systems are the norm, and we are more invested in the cloud with each passing day. But one thing hasn’t changed: The need for solutions to life’s many little challenges: How do I get audio from here to there, at the right levels, with the right controls, and be able to hear it? There must be some gadget, or gizmo, some way to do it.I believe this is the best job for me. My purpose with Angry Audio and StudioHub is to help engineers solve problems. I am just going to focus on that. Angry Audio is the little start-up with some big ideas about how to do things right. StudioHub is an established brand with a big following. This is going to be fun!
