Creation of various Graphic Design pieces as well as Digital Illustration, traditional non-computer fine arts and random gorilla marketing around the PDX area. Responsible for ensuring all graphic files are production-ready and aligned with not only customer intent but also shop production requirements. Creation of accurate, client-facing decks illustrating final product schematics for final client approval. Provides feedback on potential graphic, printing, resolution, material, and color issues.

Design, layout, and implementation of web-to-print direct mail templates optimized for shop presses and website requirements. Creation of multiple design size formats while honoring overall visual layout, client brand requirements while adhering to USPS requirements. Usage of unsupported, older advanced software (PageFlex) to create dynamic variable fields. Implementation and testing of templates independent of developers to ensure accuracy before the final live site release. Troubleshooting client issues, with support and feedback from developers as needed.

From napkin sketches, in-depth descriptions or nothing at all; I bring ideas to life, and create new ones along the way. Commonly taking on large projects as the sole designer. Creating original assets across large format landscapes, and traditional print pieces. Emphasis on creating one-of-a-kind work using various materials, print methods, custom router cutting and finishing. Concept to creation of press-ready (and/or router ready) files right and ready to go the first time. Exploration of new equipment for potential future design and products for clients. Also responsible for creating, maintaining and updating multiple Web-to-Print storefronts. Including creating customizable products using XMPie or web-based applications.

One of the founding members of Portland’s Art, Music & Literature magazine. As needed, I am capable of being my own design department: art/creative director, designer, illustrator, project manager and production artist. Working with editors, photographers, authors, and artists; I gather all the various media pieces required to create a unique magazine reflecting Portland’s creative life.
