Working in a children's home gives you a broad perspective on issues that affect children. Therapy must be individualized. I have a myriad of skills in developing attachments, sensory integration, co-regulation of emotions with carers, assessment of families and children, risk assessment, development of child care/protection plans...use of ecometric tools, different assessment frameworks (signs of safety, common assessment framework etc). I have co-authored and published an article on how child and youth care workers develop attachments with cared for children.
