I am eager to learn and experience the workings of a legal firm.Though I may lack professional experience in law, I have over 6 years of experience in hospitality which has equipped me with excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills (answering phones, taking messages, talking to clients etc). The pace and urgency of the industry has also fostered in me a great calmness under pressure and a critical thinking ability. I can communicate complex ideas and instructions concisely, confidently, and, depending on what the situation demands, kindly or assertively. I have a special interest in social justice in the civil and criminal system. I intend to use my career working in humanitarian/public interest pursuits and organisations. I want to effect change. Particularly aiding marginalised communities in achieving self-determination and aiding survivors of all forms of violence and injustice. I value compassion above self-interest and have consequently developed great resilience, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Furthermore, I have completed 3 years of my 4-year Bachelor of Laws at Monash University (having completed almost all compulsory core subjects) This has familiarised me with legal research and writing, as well as collaboration and etiquette in industry. I now want to take some time away from study to start legal work and volunteer in social justice pursuits.
