About Marc J. Metzger
Marc has over 20 years of experience in developing ecosystem services and natural capital approaches with public, NGO and private sector stakeholders to understand interactions between the environment and society, anticipate future changes, and support the development of appropriate strategies and policies to cope with these challenges. He has co-authored over 100 academic papers, supervised >20 PhD candidates and >100 MSc students, mostly focused on aspects of sustainable land use, ecosystem services and natural capital in the context of the global change challenges. Marc is director of the University of Edinburgh Centre for Sustainable Forests and Landscapes, chairs the UK National Committee for UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Programme, is president of ialeUK and sits on the steering group of the Scottish Forum on Natural Capital.
