I am an experienced Strategist and Solution Architect with 20 years of experience in IT roles ranging from Lead Developer and Principal Consultant, to Practice Lead and CTO, working to help organisations transform their businesses through the use of technologies such as Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things.I have been responsible for delivering large IT projects for government and private sector companies, and as Practice Lead took responsibility for the capability, training and career advancement of over 100 Microsoft developers.I have been working with integration technlogies for a large part of my career, and see this as a critical piece of the puzzle when it comes to the cloud.I have worked extensively with Internet of Things helping organisations deliver strategic change through the implementation of services around devices and data. As a systems integrator, I see IoT as another integration problem and look to help organisations see the outcomes possible through the entire IoT value chain.I am an active IT community leader and advocate; I run the Perth Azure User Group, am a global administrator for Global Azure which provides 1 day of free Azure workshops annually, and co-run Integration Down Under, a monthly virtual webinar targetting integration technologies in an APAC friendly timezone.I co-authored "Robust Cloud Integration with Azure" for Packt Publishing, and speak at international conferences on integration, event-driven architecture and the Internet of Things.I am a passionate advocate for mental health and run a small charity that looks to support the partners of people fighting breast cancer.Main technical areas of focus: Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Microsoft Azure, Systems Integration, development processes and practices, DevOps and Agile delivery, mentoring and training.
