The project served as a foundation for further development into a fully functional component for an upcoming demonstrator engine programme.Design Engineer (Advance3, 3 Months): Working in the Rotatives SCU. Developed a tool using Visual Basic to optimise the weight of a Fan Shaft. This tool is now being further developed with the aim of using it for production shafts.Manufacturing Engineer (Trent XWB, 3 Months): Capability Acquisition role in the Rotatives SCU developing a new manufacturing process for manufacturing an engine critical component for cost reduction opportunities as well as enabling future capability. Work involved managing test pieces through the supply chain, data analysis and interpretation gaining buy-off from company experts, managing sub-contracted work, and designing tooling to mitigate key project risks. Product System Engineer (Advance3, 5 Months): Advance3 Turbine Tip Clearance Control Product System Owner, responsible for managing multi-disciplinary activities for integration of various sub-systems to ensure all customer requirements are met. Also led a data management process improvement activity which required communicating with people at different levels throughout the Advance3 Demo Engine Programme.
