I am the CEO and Director of the Middlesex Magic AAU Basketball program. We have boys basketball teams from 3rd grade through 12th grade and our Lady Magic girls teams 4th-12th grade. Additionally we have our "Mini-Magic" program for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade girls and boys! At the youngest ages our program focuses on skill development and team concepts on offense and defense. Our program is a proud member of the prestigious Under Armour Association, which is one of the most respected national grassroots leagues consisting of 24 programs selected from the USA and Canada. I am extremely honored to have earned Under Armour Association Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2023 from “The Circuit.” As head coach of both 17u and 16u, our teams captured 3 Under Armour Championships with a combined overall record of 133-17 in that two year span. During that time every player on the roster become a college basketball player, including 16 players who earned Division 1 scholarships. I played for the Middlesex Magic from 1993-1999 before becoming a two time All-American and 2003 National Champion at Williams College. I then played a year professionally in Germany before spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics, where I was part of the 2008 NBA World Championship team. I coached with my late father and Magic founder, Michael Crotty Sr. and then took over the leadership of the Magic in 2010. Since that time I have helped develop NBA players Pat Connaughton and Duncan Robinson, Marquette All-American Tyler Kolek, and over 330 college basketball players across all divisions. The Middlesex Magic has our own basketball facility (Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, MA) and has become one of the largest clubs in the country, all while keeping their family first culture and continuing the legacy of his father.Our program was started in 1993 by my late Michael Crotty Sr., who loved teaching life lessons through athletics with the primary goal of helping student-athletes use basketball as a vehicle toward the highest level of education.
