Led a combined team of onshore and offshore contract developers responsible for all of the data integration between our in-house SQL datastore and Salesforce using a combination of Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and SSIS packages.- Designed, developed, and deployed several new APIs written as Azure Functions (using C#) with Azure APIM between the clients and the Functions. The code is well tested with close to 100% coverage.- Wrote and published written guidance regarding branching strategy, unit testing, and overall team workflow.- Executed deep technical analysis and proof-of-concept of data integration with Salesforce using Heroku Connect and Azure Data Factory.

Focus on Microsoft tools and technologies.Highlights follow:- Designed, developed and maintained an application used to manage unemployment compensation claims for the Michigan Hospital Association. This application helps MHA cut down on unemployment fraud by 20% per year.- Developed code to write schedule data in binary to electronic door locks for Ingersoll Rand's Nexia product line.- Led the development effort on a tablet-based Electronic Medical Records application.

* I was part of a large group of employees furloughed in early 2020.As a remote member of the SQL Injectors team, I worked closely with my team on a variety of products including Plan Explorer and the SentryOne Client.- Contributed to the development of the Plan Explorer extension for Microsoft’s Azure Data Studio (https://sqlperformance.com/2019/08/sentryone/plan-explorer-extension-azure-data-studio). I developed the primary interaction between Azure Data Studio and our extension, as well as working on some of the React-based UI components.- Contributed to the development of the Enterprise Platform Installer. I added several new commands to the installer.

Drove growth of a small consulting firm by engaging new clients, developing team members through mentoring and 1-on-1s, and working with the CEO on expansion plans up until the company was acquired in late 2019.

Remotely led an engineering organization with 10 senior engineers focusing on the services and frameworks that run Quicken Loans and its family of companies. Responsible for the culture of the team and the growth and development of team members.

As a remote Senior Software Engineering on a team of senior engineers, responsible for working with my team and internal clients on frameworks and services used by other engineers throughout Quicken Loans and the family of companies.- Evaluated enterprise logging solutions to replace an in-house system. Helped drive the adoption of the selected platform (Splunk).- Contributed to the development of internal .NET-focused framework; Rock Framework / RockLib.- Assisted team in open sourcing Rock Framework / RockLib - A cross-cutting set of libraries and services providing a consistent, well-documented, and easy-to-use API that helps developers quickly implement high-value, common features like logging, DI, AOP, and metrics. It also includes testing classes, helper classes, and time-saving extension methods.- Responsible for the design, development, deployment and on-going maintenance of a web-based application that allows engineers and business analysts to browse and interact with message queues.- Responsible for the design, development, deployment and on-going maintenance of a Windows service that allows engineers and business analysts to manage jobs that interact with message queues. This mission-critical infrastructure service has successfully scaled out to millions of messages per day.

Worked with several Microsoft MVPs led by Bill Wagner in introductory .NET training for approximately 30 "Developer Bootcamp" students. The students were career-changers who had little-to-no IT experience.• Taught students the basics of .NET.• Worked with students on interviewing practice.• With few exceptions, all students graduated and have been hired as developers and QA.

Lead the development effort on an Electronic Medical Records application. Responsible for iteration planning, task assignments, leading user acceptance tests (UATs), mentoring junior developers and developing high-quality code using Test First Development (part of Pillars Speed2Value).

Designed, developed, tested and maintained software solutions related to COBRA and Human Resources administration using a variety of tools and technologies including Visual Studio.NET 2002 (C#), VB6, SQL Server 2000, PHP and PostgreSQL. Drove adoption of SourceGear Vault and Dragnet. Implemented complete development/test environment using Microsoft Virtual Server.

Designed, developed, tested, and supported custom software used in Spartan-affiliated grocery stores. The software managed most aspects of running a retail store including (but not limited to) ordering, price changes, product maintenance. The software interfaced with several POS systems. Worked with team to develop improved software development processes. Mentored junior programmers. Tools included Visual Basic 4-6, SQL Server 6.5-7.0, Crystal Reports, and Perl.
