As we evolve from an IBM centered world with software as old as I am to a cloud native environment there are many opportunities for modernization.Prior to that I worked with our Cloud and Security Enablement team to help pioneer our adoption of cloud native technologies. I was initially responsible for creating and demonstrating a pattern of AWS services adoption, focused on configuration as code for our infrastructure. Quickly that meant understanding and leveraging Cloudformation to deliver IAM and Security Group assets, Lambda functions and other internal tools to enable the platform as an offering to development teams.Prior to that, in this role, I supported a major ecosystem consolidation effort across Liberty Mutual small commercial insurance. As we have grown our technical debt over time, as all large companies are apt to do, we pursued a major initiative to consolidate and remediate that debt. It was an opportunity for me to stretch across all the IT domains within the organization to understand how the data and system interoperate today and how they might best interact tomorrow. Prior to that I supported the Marketing and Distribution team working with our business partners to enable customer management of the independent agency channel as well as the compensation programs related to those customers.
