Current• Architectural governance for Linux-based server platforms (RHEL3/4/5 operating system, 3rd party, open source, and Nortel-provided base level software packages and scripts); responsible for every aspect—build environments, platform development, maintenance, production builds; review, inspect, approve software deliveries to main integration branches; main interface to OS vendor (RedHat) and internal customers (product verification, support, and documentation); achieved release-over-release stable and predictable platforms, crucial to application and middle-tier software.• Identified need, designed, and implemented tools and methodology to build and deliver platform maintenance and release upgrades; quality built up-front ensured no costly re-spins; no toolset failures during four year period from initial implementation and subsequent evolution.• Provided leadership, strong technical guidance, and key technical contributions to local and offshore (Istanbul, Turkey) resources assigned to the platform. Used twice-weekly “sync” conference calls, in addition to daily email exchanges and phone conversations; required to communicate effectively with non-native speakers, re-evaluate priorities and multi-task heavily, handling logistics spanning a difference of eight time zones.• Provided support for field issues when called upon by product support groups, input on team members for performance reviews.• Member of project’s architecture team (representing platform).
