As the Senior Technology Specialist for IoT in Telstra's Chief Technology Office, I focussed on identifying technology trends, advising and educating on new concepts/products, and developing strategies to accelerate business benefits from emerging technology. This included working closely with customers to design fully-functioning and seamlessly-integrated IoT solutions.Key achievements included:Designing, constructing, and launching Telstra's IoT Lab - Australia's first publicly-accessible IoT lab. The facility was built to encourage collaboration within the IoT ecosystem and to facilitate the intelligent design of hardware, software, and connectivity.Leading the development of Australia’s first Vehicle-to-Pedestrian collision prediction application. This involved coordinating teams and technology systems from several organisations, and performing a live media demonstration. The application will form the foundation for future intelligent transport solutions and autonomous vehicles, and reduce fatalities on Australian roads.Co-organising the Telstra Innovation Challenge (2017). My involvement included leading all technical aspects of the Challenge, managing the development of a cellular-based IoT Developer Kit for participants, building and maintaining the website, communicating with participants, and MC-ing the proceedings.Working closely with customers and industry partners to design and implement IoT solutions. My projects have spanned multiple industries including mining, connected vehicles, industrial/manufacturing, home/consumer, and agriculture.

My role as a Graduate Engineer for the Chief Technology Office was to develop strategies and products that anticipate market trends and contribute to advancing Telstra's emerging technologies, particularly in the Internet of Things (IoT) space.Key contributions included:Developing mobile and web applications for a commercialised IoT solution. This included adding tailored embedded software to IoT devices for deeper integration with a selected cloud platforms.Co-designing the electronics for an emerging IoT radio technology that was the foundation for a city-wide Hackathon in the Melbourne CBD.Researching and delivering insights into the current state of the IoT market, and proposing optimal product solutions for a variety of IoT applications.

Identified critical risks for major mining processes during assessment workshops, and presented these insights back to customers in intuitive and actionable reports.Delivered and maintained a brand new website with no prior experience. Achieved the Director and Executive visions of creating a well-designed and functional user experience in a time-sensitive manner without compromising simplicity.
