Team Leader, Environmental AssessmentSun Mountain International Feb 2015 - Nov 2015Guatemala, ParaguayDeveloped work plan and methodology to carry out two CFR 216 environmental assessments of USAID-funded projects in Guatemala and Paraguay. Authored Guatemala Rural Value Chains Project scoping statement, designed assessment tools, led field team and wrote final report, which was approved in high opinion by USAID REA. EA assesses issues and alternatives with soil conservation and water management practices in coffee and horticulture production, firewood consumption in cardamom production, climate change adaptation practices of farmers, and risks of land use change and conversion of forest to agriculture in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. Resulted in required environmental design and management best practices as well as recommendations for future project design. In Paraguay, co-authored scoping statement and contributed technical direction to EA methodology and final report. -
