Responsible for directing, planning and managing Advocate’s environmental stewardship and supplier diversity strategic initiatives. In alignment with Advocate Health Care's Mission, Values and Philosophy and Corporate Citizenship tenets, I set the strategic direction and vision for responsibly mitigating Advocate's environmental footprint (i.e., avoidance of harmful chemicals, green building, energy and waste reduction, environmentally preferable purchasing, pollution prevention, healthier food) and promotion of healthy, viable and equitable communities we are so privileged to serve.By fostering associate and physician engagement, senior level leadership support and organizational accountability, I aim to inspire the delivery of health care with the triple aim of a positive financial, social and environmental return on investment. This work involves facilitating decisions which adapt how the system develops more sustainable models of care, environmental and personal health promotion and corporate social responsibility. My primary focus is to cultivate a culture of resource conservation and develop strong diverse supplier relationships which enrich and optimize Advocate Health Care's ministry and positively impact community and population health.

In partnership with the City of Chicago - Office of Environment, the USEPA, Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council, USDOE, Health Care Without Harm, and Practice Greenhealth, I direct the education and implementation of environmentally sustainable management practices to achieve climate neutrality, cost savings and improved effectiveness in health care operations for Chicago metro area hospitals and clinics.
