Human Resources Advisor
CurrentAs an HR Advisor with Shared Services Canada, I act as a resource person for hiring managers by providing advice on HR related matters specific to complex staffing, policy interpretation, and provide recommendations on problem resolution or best way forward. I respond to everyday questions from hiring managers, employees, and candidates; develop and deliver information sessions to managers and employees; assess HR processes and activities to enhance their effectiveness and ensure they are conducted according to government policies; act as a point of contact to candidates and coordinate HR processes; I conduct research, analyse data, and write reports on HR related programs; staff vacancies by developing and conducting competency based interviews in accordance with internal policies and adherence to HR principles, employment equity and official languages programs; I review applications, conduct personal suitability interviews, monitor and maintain contact with applicants; and represent Shared Services Canada at career fairs across the country.
