I am currently a fourth year Chemical Engineering PhD student at the University of Delaware in Professor Yushan Yan's lab. My research is centered around the use of proton conducting ceramic materials for intermediate temperature green hydrogen production.I am comfortable leading projects in areas unfamiliar to me and colleagues. I have done this on numerous occasions throughout my academic and industrial career. I am a fast learner and am exceptional at leveraging available resources to engineer solutions to problems. Over time I have developed strong verbal/written communication skills and a unique ability to combine experimental data/analysis, theory, and computational calculations into my problem solving approach.Prior to beginning my PhD studies, I obtained a BS in Chemical Engineering from UMass-Amherst while working as an undergraduate researcher in Professor Omar Abdelrahman's catalysis lab. During this time I gave a poster presentation on a remote kinetic study of alkylamine hofmann elimination at the New England Catalysis Society's Spring 2021 symposium, built a transparent PID temperature controller for educational purposes, and began constructing the experimental setup for a kinetic study of amine-assisted carbon dioxide hydrogenation. In addition to research I held summer internship positions at Hitchiner Manufacturing and Heartland Water Technology.
