A mental health therapist with a passion for trauma treatment. I completed the Part Time Advance Standing Clinical Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Michigan State University. In addition to my MSW degree, I earned an Evidence Based Trauma Treatment Certification which included several hours of additional instruction regarding trauma symptoms and treatment, as well as being trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and practicing the model in the field. I have five years of experience in Child Welfare, including the titles of foster care worker, adoption worker and families first worker. I currently work as a youth and family therapist, serving families of children with severe emotional disturbances (SED). My career goals include practicing individual and family therapy and advocating for mental health awareness, normalization and treatment accessibility in the African American community.
