Created HVAC systems using building envelope loads.Revised existing HVAC systems using building envelope loads.Determined room-by-room loads and airflows using SMACNA and ASHRAE standards calculation procedures (or substantially equivalent).Designed layout of duct system on floor plan, accounting for the direction of joists, roof hips, firewalls, and other potential obstructions. Determined register locations and types, duct lengths, and connections required to produce layout given construction constraints.Sized duct system according to ACCA Manual D calculation procedures (or substantially equivalent).Sized HVAC equipment to sensible load using ACCA Manual S procedures (or substantially equivalent).Researched and analyzed data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Provided mechanical design including required calculation for component selection of products/heat transfer systems such as chiller, coil, condenser, constant air volume (CAV), controller, damper, evaporator, fan coil unit (FCU), fresh air intake (FAI), furnace, grille, louvers, makeup air unit (MAU), packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC), Packaged unit or rooftop unit (RTU), plenum space, chilled water systems, air/water cooled refrigerant systems, and fluid pumping systems in accordance with engineering design standards and customer specifications. Provided appropriate documentation and support to ensure that manufacturing and operational testing conform to functional specifications, customer requirements, and NEC/UL code requirements. Used computer assisted modeling software (CAD).
