Doha, Qatar

Leveraged additional qualifications as a Structural Engineer to secure this role; oversaw contracts worth over $1bn to design and construct airline offices, catering and cargo facilities, and aircraft maintenance hangars to accommodate Airbus A380s. Significant Contributions:* Championed and participated in the newly-launched ES&H Leadership Training course designed to help project contractors fulfill an important part of their ES&H training requirements.* Compiled the Construction Dept. Resident Engineer's Manual - a comprehensive, centralized information resource that familiarizes and guides each Resident Engineer on the project's scope, their individual work tasks and the plan for completion.* Undertook the added role of Interface Coordination Manager for the entire project to ensure that thousands of physical construction interfaces between each contract were promptly identified and resolved.

Romania

Recommended by the Project Manager of the Croatian Motorway for this role during the start-up phase. Part of a select team, tasked with negotiating a signed construction contract with the national government and ensuring that they deployed suitable staff and systems to support the start of construction in mid-2004. Subsequently liaised with the design management team to ensure that safety in construction, constructability and site conditions were properly considered during the design process.

Endorsed by Bechtel's Engineering Manager for this role, originally to address major challenges in working with and motivating subcontractors who had operated in the former communist regime. Significant Contributions:* Part of a cross-functional team that finished this project 1 year ahead of schedule, thereby permitting the client to collect toll revenues much earlier than anticipated.* Successfully liaised with the client’s representatives, local engineering companies, government organizations and landowners to maintain the construction schedule.* Conducted site tours at weekends to benefit the project public relations program and boost the company image.
