My career dreams as a child covered a wide gamut - garbage man, acoustical engineer, music producer, biomedical engineer, professional skier, jazz musician. As I matured and my interests refined, I zoned in on one aspect: my need to teach, coach, and help others constantly improve. My final choice before entering college was between biomedical engineering and music education. Though I chose the latter, my path has taken me to College Prep.In 2014, I founded Michael Jordan College Prep (first known as Direction Tutors) to provide one-on-one test prep (SAT/ACT) tutoring for college-bound high schoolers. We create individualized tutoring plans for each of our students based on goals and timeline, execute those plans through in-home tutoring, and through those plans, help students unlock college options or substantial merit scholarships.I'm passionate about teaching in all forms. College prep is incredibly rewarding. We help deserving students conquer the hurdle of ACT and SAT scores and reach their college goals. We help students with severe test anxiety overcome their fears and feel confident on test day. We help non-standardized students with learning differences overcome challenges on standardized tests. Students develop critical thinking skills, learn how to approach problems, find "first steps" to conquer new material, master time management, and take charge of their own learning.I always want to hear from former colleagues, students, parents, tutors, old friends, or new friends.
