As part of the IT Department reporting directly to the General Manager, we propose, design, and implement software systems that will help the business function more properly, and with only a couple of months, we managed to reduce the manual labor by 80 percent. We also manage different outlet concerns and point of sale systems even if it’s on the weekends. In my stay here, we also got affected by the Covid-19 pandemic which results into a skeletal work force and reduced salary for every employee, but thanks to our team’s efforts. We managed to launch the online delivery system which turned sales back to the way it is, and in that effect. The company managed to stand up again and be the symbol of the original taste of Philippine dishes.

I’ve been assigned as a full stack web applications developer here. I was able to develop an internal project called a salesforce portal where employees can access tools, trainings and documents needed for their respective jobs. I learned how to use stored procedures, Laravel backend development, front end development in here and also some integrations for gateway payment and other API integrations.

This is a Chinese school where I managed the whole network infrastructure of the school. In the first month that I worked, I immediately saw the room for improvements of every classroom and computer laboratories. In the following months, I was able to redesign the cable structures into a better one, I was able to setup a server OS boot so we can disband the use of CD/DVD when installing operating systems which was a frustrating part on them because they always lose the copy of the disks, and finally I solved the problem that the third floor laboratory is having which is internet connection, though we are on a tight budget, I managed to work things out and provided every classroom, some internet connection to access cloud storages.

This is my very first job as an IT professional. My task here is mostly software and hardware troubleshooting and in my free time, I came up with a proposal to make printers be accessible throughout the network, and yes, it’s a small one but my employer was so happy about it because she never thought that it would be possible. Aside from troubleshooting, I also assisted in manual labor like, data encoding, check deposits, document submissions and more. ¬Three months before I said that I’ll be looking for a new job, I proposed to them one last project, which is an e-learning site. I developed the said e-learning site ahead of time so there were lots of testing and polishing which resulted into a well-developed site for learning. After that, they chose to get in touch with me up till now so I can continuously provide them better technology for their business.

This is my first exposure in the IT industry where I was introduced to the wonders of network technologies and devices that we’re currently using here in the Philippines. In my first two months, I learned the day to day operations of the company and was quickly able to adapt to the different culture of our clients. We cater events like everyday for different people which transformed me to be flexible and sensitive to other people’s needs. On February 2016, my supervisor resigned leaving the position open, and just like that, I was chosen to be the replacement. With that, I was an IT Supervisor Intern of the company. I’m now responsible in handling all network configurations and requirements for all SMX branches (SMX Aura, SMX Lanang, SMX Bacolod and Megatrade). In addition to that, I was given a team of engineers to help me in the day to day operations and two new interns for an internal project which was completed weeks before my 1040 hours of internship ended. The internal project is all about the grooming of cables and network devices, and the strategic setup of new LAN wirings for the new office of the sales department, which was also coordinated to the engineering department and the security department. Over the past two projects that I’ve handled, I was able to acknowledge the importance of coordination and team work in order to deliver the project in time. This experience truly set me up for a more successful career in the future.
