This was a temp role while looking for permanent work, consisting mainly in producing royalty accounting in Excel for contributors to comics and graphic novels published by Titan.

I took a year off to learn Spanish, live abroad again. I also took two courses in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

In this period, I worked for, amongst others, three previous employers, Universal Music, EMI Records and HW Fisher & Co., mainly on recording artist and brand-licensing audit. This included being audit manager on behalf of EMI/Universal of external audits by The Beatles/Apple Corps, for the second time.

This was my first introduction to brand-licensing audit. I carried out several hundred audits on behalf of the firm's globally-renowned clients in over 20 countries, most frequently in Latin America. Here, I was a departmental manager with four direct reports from supervisors with teams of about six each. As a department, we produced royalty accounting every quarter to thousands of contributors to BBC programmes sold by BBC Worldwide as CD's and DVD's, plus Audio Books.

Internal balance sheet audits of EMI group companies in the UK, Hong Kong and the US. Also 17 internal Beatles audits. Devised and executed with a team of five the first internal royalty audit at EMI, at North American Shared Services.
