As the company changes, so do we. I have worked on Sales, OSHA, Risk Management, HACCP, Prop 65, Food Safety and Maintenance. I have been involved with incoming vendor documentation and some Quality Assurance projects. Just adding more skills to the playbook.Interestingly, this position has changed again and now I am purchasing equipment and materials for production, packaging, maintenance, safety, sanitation, warehouse and employee's supplies. I have retired from officiating - my knees won the battle. I have officiated basketball at the high school and NCAA levels. I have been fortunate to work in the NCAA tournament series and I have worked many conference tournament games. I have worked the WISAA and WIAA State High School basketball tournament 14 times throughout my career. I have umpired baseball and fast pitch softball at both the NCAA and High School level. I have now added scoring, timing and working the shot clock for women's and men's college games. It's amazing the teamwork that goes with those positions. As an official, you put yourself out there. I have operated as a trainer for new officials as well as teaching 3 person mechanics. I also had several leadership positions in our association. I have been a personal mentor to many officials throughout my career. I continue to evaluate and work as a clinician at the Next Step Ahead Officials camp.Officials manage the game. We garner success with teamwork and work on skills such as accountability, discipline, commitment and hard work. We also work within the rules using judgement and common sense.As an official, being involved with young people and having the feeling of giving back to the community has been rewarding. This also helped me to become involved with Special Olympics which I continue to work with and support.

I have been successful working with major channel accounts nationally such as Walgreens, Target, Rite Aid, Amazon, Tractor Supply, Menard's and many other chains. While working the channel accounts, I also took care of the convenience store business for Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Dakotas dealing with Kwik Trip, the Holiday Station stores and many independents. I participated in trade shows and worked with brokers and distributors locally and nationally. As part of the convenience store team, we brainstormed to plan promotions and marketing programs as well as getting together to work on packaging and product development.I have managed brokers and sales reps to cover the convenience store and channel categories while working direct with the private brands. When I started, my territory was worth about $400,000 and just before I left I did over $6 million in sales.My previous experience with the company was in the retail sector in which I worked with major chains in Wisconsin. I would cover headquarter calls setting ads and promotions, handle the warehouses for inventory purposes and manage our team for store level coverage. Part of my responsibility was to merchandise, work on planograms and do resets. I worked closely with the buyers at Roundy's, Super Valu, Fleming, Kohl's and Piggly Wiggly.I did work with foodservice accounts locally, dealing with Sysco and direct with many independents. I also worked with some caterers such as Saz's - one of the largest caterers in Wisconsin.

I traveled extensively as well as having Wisconsin responsibilities. I dealt with Roundy's, Kohl's and Godfrey at headquarters as well as their stores. My travel was to Michigan dealing with Meijers and D&W, the Carolina's, Georgia for Kroger and Atlanta Foods, Tennessee and Kentucky.This was a family company where you wore many hats including being a part of running the company holiday gift box store, working trade shows nationally or events in the Milwaukee area.
