Leading a team chartered with building and utilizing a commerce-oriented knowledge graph to power and enhance the core of Cardlytics' business: consumer facing targeted offers delivered via banking partnerships. Designing and hands-on building scalable data pipelines across the data lake, unifying heterogeneous sources, and deriving value from raw data. Mentoring engineers across teams and driving engineering culture changes across the entire org.

Engineering manager, tech lead, architect, and top code committer for Yahoo's Knowledge Graph content platform (built on spark) and state-of-the-art GraphQL serving system. I also built Web-scale entity search and natural language question answering systems.

I worked in the Cloud analytics team on two fronts. I led the original research, prototyping, and production development of a topic extraction and categorization framework for textual content. On top of this framework we built classification and content recommendation systems. I also worked on search query analytics to help gain insights into how customers were using search through bn.com and Nook devices.In parallel, I designed and implemented the server-side component which functioned as the gateway for the enhanced Shop experience used in the Nook HD/HD+ tablets and Web/mobile clients, as well as serving other AJAX-like requests for content through a pluggable architecture.

I was a member of the Web of Objects team which built Yahoo's first entity knowledge graph. My efforts focused on the integration of open data sources such as Freebase and Wikipedia, content serving to internal customer apps (for example, providing data like cast/crew for Yahoo's IntoNow mobile app), and augmenting WOO's batch processing model with support for streaming real-time entity resolution.

I was a member of the Systems Technology Lab in the Advanced Technology Labs (now Research) at Adobe. My research projects focused on multimedia content intelligence, speech transcription accuracy and performance optimizations (introduced in Premiere Pro CS5), and document analysis and keyword selection technologies for the Ads for Adobe PDF project. I also developed the initial prototypes of Adobe Drive for both Windows and Mac, and built a proof of concept Cloud-based digital storage and archiving system in 2004. My work resulted in several technology transfers to consumer Adobe products and multiple patents.

I was a teaching assistant in the UCLA Computer Science Department for four years. I taught a variety of courses, including C++ and MIPS assembly programming, operating systems, programming languages, databases systems, and web applications.

Worked on company's data migration line of products during the summer from 2000-2003. Developed software on Windows and NetWare platforms in C, C++, and VB.
