I have spent the past 20 years deploying modeling and analysis techniques to engineer breakthrough solutions to demanding problems in Life Sciences, High Tech, Energy and other industries. Building on my experience leading the strategic implementation of multiphysics simulations in emerging technology sectors, I am now responsible for expanding and diversifying Thornton Tomasetti's Weidlinger Applied Science practice. I will be collaborating with leaders in Life Science and High Tech industries in the San Francisco Bay Area and other similar business ecosystems to accelerate innovation.

Accelerating adoption of physics-based simulation technologies and advanced visualization to transform life sciences.Planes, cars, cell phones and a whole variety of equipment are being designed and tested virtually on a regular basis. Can we do the same with medical devices? Can we in fact have a truly virtual medical device development and validation environment? What if we had anatomically and physiologically accurate computer models of the human body -- could we then test medical devices within such human models that we can be more confident in the outcome of clinical trials? Or to perhaps one day even realize virtual, in silico, clinical trials?Can we predict longer-term outcomes using simulations so that we can make decisions on treatment options now, ranging from selection of devices (size, shape etc.) to planning surgeries virtually? How can simulation in combination with advanced visualization solutions be used for improved communications and medical/patient education?These are some of the questions and challenges I am working on addressing. Responsible for all Energy Industry-related activities (Strategy, Business Development, Solutions Development, Technical Marketing, Alliances, Geographical Diversification etc.) for the SIMULIA brand of Dassault Systemes.Developed and executed strategy to rapidly increase visibility in and revenue growth from the Energy Industry, especially Oil & Gas, but also Nuclear, Wind, Solar, and other alternative energy.
