I received my PhD from the Department of Politics and International Relations, Royal Holloway, University of London. My research interests focus on political Islam as a transnational movement, with particular concentration on documenting and illuminating the nature and role of the network of Shiite clerical elites in the Middle East. My research mainly describes the contemporary Shiite activism in the region, relying on the opinions of the local religiopolitical elite communities.
