Grateful to have five books published and available through Amazon as well as other online book vendors. My own books of poetry in the Ramblings Through Time series for years 2020, 2021, and 2022. The proceeds from sales of these books go to Annunciation House, a welcoming center for refugees in El Paso Tx. I was co-editor for Patchwork Poetry and Other Gibberish by the Saturday Songwriters that was published in the fall of 2020. Proceeds from sales go to The Trussell Trust. I was also co-editor for The Fire is Still Going, another book of poetry and art by individuals from around the world, like Patchwork Poetry. The proceeds from this other book go to Music4AllUK.

Responsibilities include reviewing self-study reports, evaluating compliance with standards, on-site visits to verify compliance, and participating in appeals process as necessary.

Manager of the Clinical Case Management Department at Carolinas Healthcare System University Hospital which involves utilization review and discharge planning by the staff of RN Case Managers and Medical Social Workers. The responsibility that I feel is paramount for case management is to advocate for the patients and their families as they move through the continuum of care in the hospital setting and following discharge. As the Manager of the Department, my focus areas were the empowerment of the staff as they provided patient centered care and to assure that they had the resources needed to do their jobs effectively. I had been a Case Manager since 1998 and moved to the Manager position in January 2014.

The committee is a multidisciplinary team of professionals interested in bringing wellness programs as well as complementary and alternative healthcare to staff and patients in the hospital setting. Programs currently in place include Massage Therapy for the staff, a teaching garden, Zumba classes for the staff, and aromatherapy for patients. A project that is in the planning stages is a revitalization of the stairwells with paint and inspirational messages to encourage use of the steps rather than elevators. A retreat for Nurses is also planned that includes a Mindfulness/Meditation session, Yoga, Massage, healthy cooking, and journaling.

I had a private practice in massage and neuromuscular therapy as well as health promotion coaching. Individual consultations for wellness plans were offered. Workshops in stress management were provided to companies for employees.

The American Polarity Therapy Association is a non-profit membership association dedicated to serving APTA members while promoting the work initiated by Dr. Randolph Stone. As Executive Director, I worked closely with the Board of Directors and other staff members for the benefit of the members and the Polarity Therapy profession.

I had the honor of working at Hospice in a PRN (as needed) role working in patient care in an inpatient Hospice House until March 2011.From 2002-2006, I served two roles during my time at Hospice. Besides being an admissions nurse on an 'as needed' basis, I was the on-site coordinator for a national research project conducted by the University of Colorado. The Hospice in Charlotte was one of 14 sites across the country to participate in the study.Between 1998-2002, I provided massage therapy to Hospice patients on a volunteer basis.
