Served as communications coordinator and spokesperson for the state health department's Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control.I developed, coordinated and oversaw a statewide integrated communications campaign designed to reduce the toll of tobacco use on South Carolinians. This multi-pronged effort included paid media, grassroots organizing, word of mouth marketing and media relations.During this time, I also developed and taught a course for health professionals on how to write success stories targeted to the public and key stakeholders.Part of emergency response team for the 2009 H1N1 flu outbreak in South Carolina.
