After 20 years in the building materials industry, I decided to change direction. In 1993, I went back to my passion and opened Mike Keesee Designs, a residential design and production company. As the company grew, we ventured out to open an engineering firm as well, called Florida Design Solutions Engineering Associates. Since then, FDS Engineering Associates has provided structural engineering services to several home designers and architects throughout the southeast United States. As a designer, I have also been a member of the Florida Society of the American Institute of Building Designers (AIBD). I’ve been involved with the AIBD organization since 1995 and currently serve on Florida’s Executive Board of Directors. (www.aibd.org) In 1998, I earned my certificate from the National Council of Building Designers Certification (NCBDC). In August of 2014, I was awarded the highest honor of AIBD of being inducted into the College of Fellows.Over time, we have rebranded our company, and we now serve clients under Keesee and Associates, Inc. While our business name and logo may have changed, the heart of our employees and our commitment to help our customers has not. With the housing market finally beginning to turn around, our companies are poised to be the go-to businesses in the residential building industry.
