In this role, I am assigned to 9 Huntley, a transitional housing program operated by Fife House. I provide community and peer supports to the 20 clients of the program, in group activities, facilitated discussions, and while working one-on-one with the people who have found themselves residents of the program. I have provided informal counselling, advocated and participated in case management, supported education around harm reduction, worked with individuals who were changing their patterns of drug and alcohol use, and accompanied people to many places. The program specifically targets people living with HIV, who often are living with complex needs and issues, including mental health, addictions, and justice

Reporting to the Director of Research, this interviewer position at Canada's first and only hospital dedicated solely to HIV/AIDS is both challenging and very rewarding. Throughout my contract, I completed 90+ interviews with people from all parts of the Hospital in order to gauge feedback and provide a report quarterly. I was also tasked with the creation of the Hospital's Client/Patient Declaration. Through focus groups with clients, and a series of roundtables, I was able to draft the declaration still available on the Casey House Website today.

The development of the Peer Engagement Program following a series of focus groups with stakeholders. Program was also developed with the ideals of GIPA (Greater Involvement of Persons Living with HIV/Aids) and MEPA (Meaningful Engagement of Persons Living with HIV/Aids) as a point of focus.

Using recycled, salvaged, found and repurposed materials, I developed a series of four projects under the mentorship of an established artist. The overall project had as its scope to examine the experiences of a young person in Northern Ontario and touched on themes familiar to this demographic.
