PhD candidate at Jensenlab. I use combine existing tools and datasets to gain more insights in the interplay between proteins, or more specifically; identifying the specific protein-protein signalling interactions. The result is a large network that can be used to interpret the omics results of wet lab research.The funding for the Novo Nordisk Center of Protein Research is discontinued and prof. Lars Juhl Jensen will move to industry. I continue my PhD with a new project at the lab of prof. Simon Rasmussen.

During this 4-month internship, I've investigated the complex genetic background of a group of patients with multicystic kidney dysplasia. Currently, for only 10-20% of the patients a mutation in a set of known genes can be found through standard genetics screening methods. The genetic background of the remaining 80-90% of the patients is unknown, while the familial aspect of this disease is evident. After my first rowing year at U.S.R. Triton, I proceeded with a second racing year at A.U.S.R. Orca. I've rowed single sculls and double sculls in the lightweight category, and won multiple races in the 4- and 8+ in the weightless category. My perseverance and self-discipline are evident from the 8 trainings per week as a single sculler, without a crew or fixed coaching team. I independently asked for coaching and training schedules from various rowers and coachers, and planned my own diets in order to start in the lightweight category.In my third rowing year, I started double sculls in a recreational field, while still training 5 times a week. We won various races and the overall competition (Ask & Embla bokaal).

Despite my 1.61m and 59kg, I was selected for the women's freshmans eight at my rowing club. We trained 7 times a week next to our fulltime studies and my honours programmes. It demanded from us that we keep a healthy and disciplined lifestyle, and we learned to prioritize the most important within our private and professional lives.
