Khalid heads the Data and Analytics practice at UOB Asset Management (fr Sep 2021). He develops and executes the Data and AI Strategy. He was previously from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)'s Data Analytics and Engineering Centre of Excellence. The programme also maintains constant oversight on all the related projects internal to MAS but necessary to support the transformation of how MAS collects and uses regulatory returns data for its supervisory and policy purposes.With over 13 years experience in digital transformation, data analytics and product management, Khalid immerses himself in several sectors like Financial Sectors, Energy, InfoComm, Gov and Consumer Industries. As the programme manager, Khalid ensures smooth delivery of all the DCT workstreams through working closely with technical and business project managers in the programme, business users and senior stakeholders. He, together with the Programme Director also led several key programme related activities and provides inputs on issues and initiatives. Workstreams that Khalid manages comprises of the Data Collection Gateway system, the Enterprise Data Lake, the Data Consumption Project as well as working hand-in-glove with the change management team that engages with the FIs in matters related to the MAS610 implementation.Khalid also plays an active role as project advisor to the Data Consumption workstream in ensuring that the business departments and external downstream consumption platforms can effectively consume the MAS610 returns data for internal, external reports and dashboards (BI tools) and analytics. Assistant Director, Applied Analytics And Visualisation - Data Analytics Group, MasMonetary Authority Of Singapore (Mas) Feb 2018 - Jul 2019Singapore, SgDuring this period, Khalid is an active team member working on several initiatives that are closely aligned to the organisation's needs such as data visualisation, building quick data analytics prototypes and develops production grade analytics tools and services that leverages external and internal data sets. He partners with both IT and training counterparts to increase the adoption of data visualisation tool and ensuring that end users are able to self serve their needs. One key project developed by Khalid was on legal contracts review, supporting the MAS legal team in their critical BAU work. This application, leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) was able to parse and recognize clauses for amendment instructions of ACTs and generate the intended changes that need to be performed. Application has saved several weeks of work hours that a legal officer needs to perform and greatly minimizes the human error. This application was featured in GovTech's Data Analytics sharing, attended by many agencies. It gathered several interests from other agencies as they have similar problem statements.Also, during this period, Khalid was part of a team that manages the AI in Finance segments for the annual Singapore FinTech Festival (over 50k participants) event held by MAS. These includes working very closely with the CDO to strategize and execute the segments by having to define, identify, invite and work together with key thought leaders, sponsors in the AI in Finance arena.

Project MemberMas-Mit’S Digital Currency Initiative Sep 2018 - Feb 2019Project collaboration with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, MIT’s Digital Currency Initiative and MIT Sloan School of Management on exploring the use of blockchain for Smart Cities. Project use-case developed was titled Parametric Flight Delay Insurance. A working prototype was developed that allowed travellers to book and claim automatically through a public blockchain network when the need arises (e.g. flight delay due to weather, disasters more than a stipulated time). Further work was planned to have better integration with real-time global flight data and crypto-fiat payment system(s).

Developed the News Video Tapestry IPTV application that provides an alternative way to watch traditional broadcast News. This application received honorable mentioned at ITU-T IPTV App Challenge 2011 and clinched the commendation award at Singapore’s Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors 2012.I was also very much involved in research and development in IPTV multimedia applications and infrastructure for in-house projects and overseas industry research lab partners. Worked with local polytechnics and internal team for TV UI design (IPTV for normal and elder folks) and software development prototyping for technologies developed by the institute.
