PI: Dr. Lijun Du. (please see published papers below in my "Publications" section)Study abroad fellowship in Beijing, China. Department of Pharmacology at the School of Medicine. My research involved an extensive evaluation of BBR (Berberine), including evaluating its acute toxicity, its role as a DNA intercalator, and in thermoregulation.

PI: Dr. Mark Banaszak-Holl. (please see published papers below in my "Publications" section)Initially an Intel- funded summer fellowship, which continued for a year at the University of Michigan. My project entailed further exploration of the CH-activation chemistry involved in forming new metal-carbon bonds and developing new catalytic chemistries to use the metal-carbon bonds. The chemistry being developed is interesting for the wet chemical modification of Si and Ge surfaces which are of crucial importance in the semiconductor industry.

Program Board: I helped program fun, stimulating, educational, and cultural events for the MRC. I rotated between positions of Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.Peer Mentor: I mentored a group of first year students to enhance their MRC experience.I was a member the prior year, between 2007-2008.
