I am currently pursuing a Business Human Resources degree at Seneca College, where I am developing a comprehensive understanding of HR principles and practices. My academic journey equips me with essential skills in recruitment, employee relations, and organizational behavior.Before my studies, I spent nearly five years as a daycare teacher. This role allowed me to develop strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of child development and education. During my time as a daycare teacher, I was responsible for creating and implementing educational activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and maintaining effective communication with parents and colleagues.Currently, I work in the restaurant industry, where I have gained valuable experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role has further enhanced my organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and experience in customer service and team coordination.The experience I gained as a daycare teacher and in the restaurant industry has provided me with valuable skills that are highly transferable to the field of human resources. For instance:-Communication: Effectively communicating with children, parents, colleagues, and customers has honed my ability to convey information clearly and empathetically, a crucial skill in HR for resolving conflicts and fostering a positive work environment.-Organization: Managing daily schedules, activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of both daycare and restaurant environments has enhanced my organizational and time-management skills, which are essential for coordinating HR tasks and projects.-Conflict Resolution: Addressing and resolving conflicts among children and managing customer service issues has taught me patience and problem-solving skills, directly applicable to handling employee disputes and maintaining harmonious workplace relations.-Empathy and Understanding: Working with children and in customer service requires a high level of empathy and understanding, qualities that are important for HR professionals to support employee well-being and create a supportive workplace culture.I am passionate about fostering positive work environments and am eager to bring my background in education, customer service, and my growing expertise in HR to future roles.
