In my role as Platform Engineer at Vela Games, I have contributed significantly to our backend systems using Go, gRPC and AWS. I led the development of a match and ratings history service and improved our matchmaking strategies. I also extended our capabilities by integrating external vendor APIs and created key development tools to streamline our processes. In addition, my extensive stress testing ensured the robustness of our platform. This impactful work improved overall game performance and enhanced the player experience.

As part of the da/net research group, I have been the lead developer of the goSDN project, a vendor-independent SDN controller. My key responsibility was the design and implementation of the Go-based core library. In this role, I drove decisions on architectural design and technical implementation. I also supervised both undergraduate and graduate students. This project was a collaboration with a leading German telecommunications company.Through this work, I am very familiar with SDN and network management technologies such as YANG, RESTCONF and especially gNMI.

In this role, I have given various lectures in the field of communication networks. Most recently, I gave a lecture on Internetworking for which I developed and supervised a virtualised lab based on FreeBSD jails to teach IPv6 networking, the QUIC transport protocol and IPv4 to IPv6 transition technologies.

I conducted interactive multi-day seminars for young adults focusing on communication, time management, project management, and asserting themselves in the workplace.

I assisted with lab sessions for the Networking 101 and Internetworking courses at our faculty. Main responsibilities included supporting the students during lab sessions, and evaluating coursework.
