* Design features in collaboration with product manager, implementation team, and development team, ensuring that features are coherent, meet user needs, and cover expected use cases without overengineering or incurring too much technical debt.* Technical architecture: establishing patterns for (and norms surrounding) monitoring, error handling, use of webservices, * Integration architect: collaborate with clinical, data, or IT teams to find solutions to automate getting data into our out of the EHR to automate clinical programs.* Devops/sysadmin: Lead maintainer of our Docker-based production environment. First in-house technical hire on Way to Health, an innovative platform to encourage healthy behaviors through principles of Behavioral Economics.* Designed and built new features to enable novel patient engagement strategies, improve the user interface for our patients and providers, and troubleshoot issues affecting our users.* Liaised to outside development firm as we built out an internal team.

Designed and built a real-time information dashboard enabling ER and hospital doctors to view and acknowledge critical lab results immediately.Expanded tools for departmental data mining, allowing analysis across multiple datasetsLed aspects of setup for new SoftLab Laboratory Information System.* Served as point person within the lab team coordinating build in external hospital systems to integrate with the new lab system, and understanding the constraints of those systems so we could build the lab system or the interface accordingly. Troubleshooted interface issues, identified problems, brought the problems to the respective teams to fix, and followed up on solutions.* Analyzed the system to create simple and usable workflows with a maintainable and robust setup. * Worked with teams from all labs (chemistry, hematology, virology, microbiology, pathology, molecular) to standardize result display, clinician ordering workflows (CPOE), and specimen collection to ensure unambiguous communication and effectively gather needed data from providers* Helped teams capture instrument data, understand potential error modes in each module and across the system so they could be avoided, detected, and/or audited. Wrote over 200 audits checking various rules on consistency, naming, workflows, and ensuring setup tables were clean and complete.* Wrote scripts (using Boston Workstation and ODBC) to automate parts of the system build, ensuring accuracy and saving many hours of manual data entry.Provided lab data to the CMO to assess HEDIS measure compliance

* Member of a team supporting several large client e-commerce sites with extensive customizations based on the IBM Websphere Commerce platform.* Developed new features for the sites, including routine reporting for business users, security fixes, front end (JSP/HTML/Javascript) and back end (Java/J2EE/struts, SOLR) changes to add or fix functionality.* Involved with the maintenance of websites, investigating issues relating to catalog data loads, coupon deals, user data issues, build and deploy, content management system support, interface with backend/middleware systems over SOAP and Websphere MQ.

* Supervised staff of part-time student kosher supervisors - in charge of arranging coverage for afternoon/evening/weekend shifts, answering or escalating questions or problems that came up during those times, and arranging training sessions for new employees. Served as liaison between full time kosher supervisor and students.* Spearheaded an effort to update our operating manual to explain procedures more accurately and clearly. Successfully implemented technology solution to simplify scheduling of shifts.* Organized events educating students in the community and our staff on kosher issues.

* Modularized and restructured Matlab codes for research in optical breast tomography.* Wrote Matlab codes to calculate optical properties from spatial data in a computerized vascular model; ran a Monte Carlo simulation on several vascular models and presented the results.* Wrote a plugin for Norpix Streampix camera software to perform real time image analysis assisting research with laser speckle imaging – this involved coding in C++ and learning the SDK provided by Norpix, techniques of image analysis, and Windows user controls.

Performed regular “health checks” on classroom equipment, to ensure it worked correctly.Assisted students with IT issues including email, accounts, printing, and exam software.

Used SolidWorks 3D modeling software to model a device used for biological research in space.Prepared mouse bones for strength testing to study the effects of weightlessness on the body.
