I am passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to accelerate biomedical research and discovery. I build open-source tools and packages that make these technologies more accessible to a wide range of researchers and healthcare professionals.As a data and software engineer at DataTecnica, I help develop large-language model (LLM) solutions to answer biomedical research questions, harmonize data across silos, and build knowledge graphs to identify gaps in our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. I also find, clean, and curate data sources to populate indexes and databases that enhance LLM performance. Additionally, I develop genetic data quality control software for the Global Parkinson’s Genetics Program (GP2) and the Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias (CARD).In my time at CARD prior to joining DataTecnica, I developed an unsupervised machine learning method to investigate the genetic overlap between neurodegenerative, autoimmune, and other diseases. Before that, as an undergraduate at the University of Vermont, I created scoring systems to predict the chance of intubation after surgery, helping inform patients and clinicians in the shared decision-making process.I plan to pursue an advanced degree in Computer Science to become a more well-rounded developer while continuing to promote open-source and open-science frameworks. My goal is to continue working in the startup space, building tools and products that directly benefit researchers, patients, healthcare professionals, and medical and research institutions.
