Croatian economist, former chief statistician and government executive with 17 years of experience, including analytics, policy, data governance, labour market, gender statistics, data visualisation, public relations, government affairs, GIS, public finance, capacity building, project management, decision making, negotiations, monitoring and evaluation, peer reviews and SDGs. Currently working as Expert Advisor in Croatian Financial Agency - FINA. As an Independent Statistical Consultant also engaged on projects for Eurostat, UN Statistical Commision and UN Women. In his former role as the Director General of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics Marko initiated an extensive digital transformation, modernised work processes and data processing and through proactive public communication changed the perception of official statistics in Croatia. As DG of CBS, Marko was personally elected member of the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC) for two consecutive terms and was elected Vice-Chair of the Bureau of the UNECE’s Conference of European statisticians.
