Directed a remote team of Network Engineers and Dispatch Specialist to manage vendors/suppliers and internal operational RF field technicians to repair, operate and build large scale telecommunications networks. • Managed over $100M in operational and build expenses. • Provided executive level updates and communications is required on a regular basis. • Managed dispatching service repair tickets to over 500 technicians and approximately 200 3rd party suppliers. • Supported national build program which involves 1000’s of new site upgrades/modifications annually to enhance T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and other service provides.

Responsible for overall management of cell site maintenance as it applies to 3rd party vendor support. As the national lead for this, I oversee our customer’s generator fleet, HVAC maintenance/support, tower climbing/antenna crews, DAS/BDA in-building support/maintenance and work as a primary POC for the logistics section of the disaster recovery branch. In addition I create and have accountability for the cell site maintenance budget for approximately 70K cell sites.

In this national role, I oversaw a group of project managers who manage projects related to capacity augmentation, system upgrades and network expansion for network and switching platforms. This includes software/hardware, telco, facilities management and overall coordination of projects impacting field operations. In this position, I also had responsibility for a group of datafill technicians who performed routine parameter changes and modifications to the core network. This position also afforded me the opportunity to be customer facing with respect to evaluating and proposing solutions to new customers for operating their network. It also included service delivery management – identify internal resources to support new projects.

Oversee three functional groups; (1)Project management, (2)OSS and Unix support and (3) a team who enters data/parameter changes into the iDEN network. My function also serves as a central point of contact for the entire Northeast region (New England, NY, NY, BAWA, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin) as it applies to switch operations.

As a result of the merger between Nextel and Sprint, my scope of responsibility increased to total of eighty employees (nine direct managers), eleven switching centers (multiple switches in each center) and multiple technology platforms; Lucent (CDMA), Nortel (long distance and CDMA) and Motorola (iDEN and CDMA). Overall responsibility for maintaining 7x24 system availability of the network.

Responsible for a staff of approximately seventy-five engineers and technicians. Geographical areas of responsibility are Michigan, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Northern Kentucky. Over see ten Nortel MSC’s, one Lucent 5ESS, numerous Motorola equipment, such as BSC’s and DAP’s. Responsibilities include creating and tracking multi million dollar budget, recruiting, oversee a 7x24 operations staff, insure adequate capacity is engineered and implemented to maintain customer demand and oversee PSTN interconnect for the area.
