IT Support role for the college.

After assisting ICT with technical duties in the lecture rooms, i was offered a role to take over the responsibilities of being a point of technical support for the meeting rooms and Thames Suite lecture rooms, some of the role involves:• Maintain an up-to-date technical knowledge of the computing, educational technology, audio visual and lecture capture equipment in the Thames Suite and meeting rooms.• Point of contact for any technical issues in the meeting and lecture rooms.• Manage remote support when necessary.• Induct new teaching staff on use of the rooms and equipment.• Order software for the Thames Suite.

My initial role was a clerical assistant for the IT Learning Programme. As more technical demand was needed, my role changed to the current title.I am required to provide support to the Thames Suite lecture rooms for both ITLP courses and private room hire. Support for this includes AV equipment, Departmental machines and laptops of external teachers and event organisers.I also do a weekly shift on the IT Services help desk. This involves assisting all levels of University staff and students with account issues (Nexus, Eduroam etc) and actual machine issues.
