Margaret Lane, founder of Lane & Company, has 25+ years of experience providing marketing and strategic direction for a diverse group of clients.In 1990, after an ad agency career that culminated in ten years enjoying the heyday at Hal Riney & Partners SF, she decided to direct her energy and skills to qualitative research and strategic planning exclusively. Today, using both traditional and custom/innovative qualitative research techniques, Margaret spends her time drilling into the hearts and minds of her clients’ target audiences. She’s been at the sink with 6-year-olds watching them with their toothbrushes, (for Oral B), played golf with “old” and “new” school golfers (for Nike) and “brainstormed” with neurologists, (for WedMD). She works closely with clients to design studies that uncover a road map for success – whether it’s identifying a unique marketplace positioning, revealing new insights about a target audience, maximizing product design or developing powerful advertising.Margaret works with a myriad of clients including marketers, advertising agencies/integrated marketing companies, design firms and brand consultancies. Her experience includes work with clients in categories such as technology, apparel, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, travel, telecommunications, financial, medical, aerospace, packaged goods, media and oral care.
