Conducting research on a new product, which includes:- Defining user types through user segmentation, use case exploration, and qualitative interviews. - Quantitatively defining the market through product value propositions and price point through survey and analysis. - Implementing instrumentation of the beta version of the product to understand how first time users interact with the product.

Designing, conducting, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research. Methods Used: Moderated interviews, survey design and analysis, diary study, user segmentation and persona development.

Listening, learning, and exploring different research methodologies and tools. Talking to people that are well versed in UX research and design. Consuming and digesting actionable insights from others that also love to learn.

Design and taught a Psychology course on Human Memory.

Doctoral student responsible for conducting research on the effect of heuristics on memory and decision-making. Oversaw and mentored 16 research assistants in the laboratory, and taught courses at the university. Accomplishments• Gained expertise in experimental design. Designed, programed, executed, analyzed, and reported findings from experiments. Shared the findings in written and oral presentations.• Completed research projects related to the use of heuristics on decision-making, which has led to four publications, one in preparation, and one project underway.• Independently conducted the first comprehensive meta-analysis on the effect of fluency on judgments, which is being prepared for publication.• Mastered the literature on the effect of fluency on varying judgments (e.g., familiarity, liking, truth, confidence, etc.).• Awarded Departmental Honors in Research for 2014/2015 Academic Year.• Awarded University Excellence in Research for 2014/2015 Academic Year.• Designed and taught multiple courses in Psychology, including research methods and statistics.• Invited to review an article for a top tier journal in Psychology, Journal of Experimental Psychology: General.

Research assistant responsible for conducting experiments on memory and consciousness. Oversaw eight lab members as laboratory manager from Fall 2009 to Summer 2010. Accomplishments• Conducted an honors thesis investigating the role of unconscious cues on the context of memory. • Transformed participants’ 1,326 qualitative self-reports and re-coded for inclusion in a quantitative dataset. • Planned the 2009 annual Psi Chi meeting, which included advertising, scheduling speakers, and ensuring the smooth execution of the event. • Assisted in teaching two Psychology courses: statistics and psycholinguistics.

As a team member at Whole Foods Market I worked six different positions over six-and-a-half years. I became well-tuned to the customer’s experience and how we could make small changes to greatly enhance the customer experience and reduce dissatisfaction. Accomplishments• Learned how to give quality customer care and handle in a positive and calm manner customers who were less-than-satisfied. • Excelled in being part of a high energy and dynamic team as a team member of the Front End and grocery department. • Mastered all aspects of the operating system of the Front End, which included tracking the previous day’s profit. • Oversaw the running of the bulk department. Ordered product, stayed within margin, completed inventory, and supervised other bulk team members. • Supervised up to 40 Front End team members. Mastered Front End logistics (e.g., time keeping and customer flow) and on-the-fly customer service and problem solving to ensure a great experience.
