My mission is to make the decision making process easy for everyone. Process and Project Management allow companies to work with the right indicators and numbers, making data-based instead of opinion-based decisions.Even though my education is technical, which I enjoy very much, my career always tended to process modelling and improvement, my favourite subjects. For me, it is as if I could quantify and create equations that better portray companies' nature and productivity.I have a bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering with a minor in Naval Architecture, and mathematical modelling was present during all my studies up to when I was invited to go on with them for a master's degree.In my professional life after graduation there are 3 projects I usually like to talk about. First one was early on my career and I elaborated a load calculator for river barges in order to easy the life of port operators. It was already a good experience because of its complexity: it involved the mathematics of the calculator as well as the whole load process. So, I learned a lot!The second one is a process for project accountability with BNDES. On this one the challenge was to understand all the financial steps to allow engineering projects to take place. The success of this particular project was acknowledged when I was no longer needed in the accountability day-to-day and it was very gratifying.Finally, the third one was a very big process for it involved all operations nationally and different teams in the company, including the Innovation Hub. I elaborated with the IT team an application for failure analysis, along with a whole new process. The operational teams were pleased with the changes and the IT team was satisfied to have one single simple process to program for everyone. The results came in 2 months, it was amazing.I also had the opportunity to work in Project Management, firstly being PMO for a project for an livestock company and then leading 2 other incredible projects: one that consisted in installing sensors with web communication on equipment inboard for shore monitoring, and the second was a first assistance application for crew members. Both of them were innovative and had successful assessment checkpoints and final delivery appreciated and I felt accomplished knowing that all resulted in an improvement of productivity for the companies I worked on.Challenges and deliveries are my biggest motivators!monicallsilva@outlook.com
