Development of a tool supporting independent software verification and validation processes at CIRA.The system must provide:- open process editor (by means of a GUI and scripting facilities)- management of projects following available processes- roles within processes- handling of artifacts and roles to produce/consume them- a document management system with ACL support and content managment to map artifacts to external end internal tools that must elaborate them- integrated requirement and artifacts dependency management up to source code elements- automatic traceability and correspondence matrix definition- automatic creation of reports

Design and development of the Flexible Framework for Magnetic Measurements in the context of the LHC Project.The key requirements and system constraints were:*Portability - on windows/linux/macosx;*Communication and concurrency - since FFMM components needed to access different communication media like GPIB, RS232 or WordFIP or Ethernet on all platform; - specifig multithreading and I/O functionalities must be used on all platform to improve performances.*Reuse - In order to maximize reuse, a white-box layer that lets users and developers to extend framework by means of inheritance. - FFMM also provide a black-box layer (made by using the white-box one) that can be used directly without any internal knowledge of the framework.

The position was related to the design of a C/C++ portable (windows/linux) server for an antenna group of a PAR ( Precision Approaching Radar). The server was deployed on a PC-104 system and was based on the following key technologies:- ACE Framework, for communication issues- Boost library ( in particular signal, bind and thread libraries )The development process followed an agile test-driven approach and the core architecture was based on the following design patterns:- pubblish/subscribe to handle events,- command,- a chain of responsibility-based engine to process commands following customizable rules,- forwarders/receivers layer to decouple physical communication (actually RS232, GPIB, Ethernet) - others (singleton, composite)
