Recent Key Projects• Lead Architect in the delivery of a new Trader Desktop environment for 2000+ UK based Traders with the banks first integration to Citrix Cloud. This included the solutions for hosting across VDI and physical devices with integration for key Trader applications.• Lead Architect for the migration of the primary high-value customer facing Digital App which handles ~3m+ logins per day to hosting in AWS . This was a significant undertaking by the bank as it is first major environment to consume the AWS internet facing environments. Solutions to integrate the new AWS env with existing core bank products and services. Providing product enhancements to the IFE environment to meet business needs.• Lead Architect the banks £250m+ programme to design and replace the billing and onboarding platforms in Barclaycard. The project is a highly integrated platform (to both internal and external services providers) and required extensive \ complex design analysis and definition to provide a future proofed environment to support the bank for the next 7-10 years. Responsibilities IncludeWorking with Senior stakeholders (Directors and MD's), Lead Solution Architects and business in the definition of non-functional requirements to meet solution needs.Creation of high quality and pragmatic designs to meet the requirements of projects for BUK and Digital portfolio's.Driving new technology solution for the adoption of AWS and Internal cloud services.Defining \ responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure design adheres to the banks infrastructure platform, security, resilience and sustainability strategies. Lead Technical Delivery Manager with responsibility for managing multiple, concurrent Wintel Infrastructure and Application projects worldwide across the many business portfolios within the bank.Matrix management of offshore integration and implementation teams working across test and live environments, providing support and input to the end to end solution. Keeping clients and stakeholders fully informed throughout the project lifecycle. Stakeholders include Barclays Business Project Managers \ Customers, Designers, Portfolio Managers and Service Managers. The Lead TDM role I was responsible for the larger scale projects and technical and process advice and guidance for other teams and team members. Key projects \ responsibilities• Responsible for the managed delivery of core Windows infrastructure for the “day 1” requirements for the new European Data Centre based in the UK. This Data Centre acts as the DR facility for all European banking based services. • Implementation \ Integration of Citrix Server Farms and VMWare ESX Farm environments across multiple UK based data centres to enable Off Shore Suppliers access to Barclays Bank systems for development and production support purposes. This was a secured DMZ’d environment providing a ring-fenced environment for 3rd Party Development purposes.• Provide design decisions \ criteria and provide technical solutions to ensure successful delivery into existing production environment.• 3rd \ 4th Line support for in-flight projects – providing troubleshooting and problem resolution for Wintel Issues.• Management of multi-disciplined teams to ensure successful project delivery.• “Agile” infrastructure implementation to provide speedier delivery for business projects.• Large scale project management and delivery.• Delivery of varying Citrix and Application Server based projects on both physical HP (Blade and DL) and Virtual Servers.• Team mentoring

Employed at 7 Global’s Data centre in Liverpool as a Senior Technical Specialist/Consultant primarily responsible for designing and delivering project based Microsoft\Intel\Citrix\Virtualisation based solutions for 3rd party ISV’s. Also, working with SAAS partners to design, develop and implement solutions to provide marketable, multi-tenanted environments. The role also includes 3rd \ 4th Line Support for the hosted services server estate primarily consisting of Windows 2000 and 2003 Active Directory domains (both internal and hosted), Windows 2000\2003 servers, Citrix XPa to XenApp 4.5, Exchange 2000\2003\2007, SQL 2000\2005 clusters, etc.Key Project delivered \ implemented \ supported• Technical lead for the design, implementation and support of a new Hosted Microsoft CRM 4.0 environment for resale via a partner network. This environment also included the implementation of Microsoft HMC 4.0 and subsequent upgrade to HMC 4.5. • Implementation and support of Microsoft hosted mail services based on Exchange 2007 and WSS 3.0. • Design and Implementation of “Sandpit” environments for testing CRM Accelerators and 3rd party vertical applications for hosted CRM partners. These allowed speed for increased development and speed to market for new product offerings.• Project Management, customer consultancy and implementation of Insourcing IT infrastructure projects for external customers to our in-house hosted environment. • Design, implementation and on-going support of Hosted Citrix XenApp 4.0 and 4.5 environments for various ISP’s. Including Citrix Secure Gateway and Web Interface.• Design \ Implementation of virtualised environments based on VMWare and Hyper-V to host 3rd party applications.• Creation and updating technical documentation, including Conceptual Specifications, System Technical Design and handover documents for implemented environments.• Adherence to defined processes and standards for Change Management and Incident Management.

Initially employed as a member of a team to support and manage the Windows Desktop and Server environment. This evolved into managing and implementation of Intel based projects for various application purposes. Below is a list of my responsibilities, including some of the projects implemented: • Lead project resource for the successfully migration of Windows NT accounts and Novell Netware infrastructure to Windows 2000 Active Directory, including consolidation of European Windows NT 4.0 Accounts Domains to a single directory.• Key project team member for the design and implementation of the Windows 2000 Server Infrastructure for a “Greenfield” office in Spain. • Management of European WINS, DDNS and DFS infrastructure, including integration to US infrastructure. Implementation and management of GPO’s for European domain.• Worked on the planning, migration and consolidation project for all European Exchange servers, building new servers for Exchange and moving all Exchange storage to EMC based SAN.• Implementation of Citrix Presentation 4.0 Server Farm and Citrix Secure Gateway for provisioning 3rd party (vendor) access to internal applications.• 3rd Line support for Windows 2000/2003 servers ranging from MS clusters, MS print servers and all Windows 2000 application servers.• Day to day support and management of the Windows 2000 AD and Windows 2000 Server infrastructure at MBNA Europe, 8,400 users spread across servers in Chester, Ireland and Spain.• Mentoring of local and regional support staff to ensure effective support for implementations. This involved visits to Madrid on occasions in the past.• Adherence to ITIL Change Management standards and processes including supporting documentation for implementations.

Originally started at Manweb as a contractor for the Desktop Support Team. After varying projects moved to become a full-time employee working in the 3rd Line Support team which covered both Desktop and Server elements of the infrastructure.• Day to day support of Windows 2000\NT 4\Lan Manager Servers and varying version Microsoft Windows desktop products. This covered the North West\Wales regional sites including site visits and remote support.• Managed a team of engineers for the rollout of new Desktop Environment across all sites.• Lead Engineer for the migration of user 30,000+ user accounts to new naming convention for the entire Scottish Power NDS directory.
