I am a developer in heart and soul who lives and breathes software. I have mastered software from barehardware up to high level cloud computing. I have developed multi-device platforms, resource-constraineddevices and server-oriented systems. Recognizing that software development is more than typing code I joinedthe Agile development movement as early as 2002. Today I feel Agile comes so natural to me that I considermyself a Post-Agilist, which resulted in me launching the Agile Coach Camp unconference series in TheNetherlands.I enjoy working in vibrant, energetic organizations to create awesome products that enrich the lives of theircustomers. Software development is much more than implementing a list of requirements in a set time: it’s anactive journey during which business and developers discover the best way to serve the client's needs. It’s anintegral team effort and as such my responsibility does not end with my own code. I am always available forother team members and those outside the team. My commitment towards the product doesn’t end after asuccessful build. I enjoy taking part in various steering activities such as story discovery, overall groupalignments or bug triages – though I love even better to have no bugs at all. I can host retrospectives, coach planning sessions or hold open spaces when desired. A co-worker once described me as being able to “foresee problems long before others recognize them”.I am always on the lookout for new technologies and better ways of doing things. Even when I can’timmediately apply them in my current work this helps to improve myself and others. As an enthusiast of Test Driven Development and Clean Code I can really enjoy the beauty of well-written code, or the results of a skillful refactoring. If necessary I will gladly tackle a complex coding problem and keep digging until I come out with a firm understanding of the problem and the impact. Other people have described me as honest, decisive, mild, assertive, inquisitive, dedicated, responsible, calm, balanced, independent and friendly.
