Assists the Branch Manager with the operation and maintenance of the branch and assumes the responsibilities of the Branch Manager in his/her absence in order to provide quality Library service to all Library customers.-Schedules staff and monitors attendance to ensure adequate staffing.-Assists with overseeing branch operations, building, and grounds maintenance so the branch is clean, safe, and attractive.-Supervises and participates in public service activities including circulation and reference services to meet the needs of customers.-Program planning and implementation to meet the needs of existing customers and to attract new customers.-Participates in hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff to ensure the Library staff is capable of giving the highest quality service.-Assists in the development and maintenance of the branch collection to ensure the branch meets the needs of the community it serves.

-Act as Person In Charge of the library branch when manager is not present, problem solving diplomatically and with compassion for the customer.-Recruit, interview, and hire talented and diverse staff in collaboration with leadership.-Schedule staff coverage for the library floor, optimally utilizing a staff of 13.-Collection management and readers' advisory to kids and teens. Actively weed, evaluate, and adjust collection in line with the needs and wants of the community and following Anythink's collection development policy.-Contribute to district leadership committees such as summer reading planning, district-wide programming, and district-level youth services guidelines.-Develop and conduct programs, presentations and workshops and create participatory, transformative experiences.-Make responsible and sustainable budget decisions in collaboration with other guides and manager to best utilize the programming, programming supplies, minor equipment, and summer programming budgets.-Act as face of the branch, and Anythink in general during programs and community events, projecting the library district's mission and vision to the public.-Develop and teach trainings on everything from technology to providing hospitality to teens for both patrons and staff.-Seek out and develop partnerships throughout the community: recruiting and hiring Artists in Residence and collaborating with outside organizations.

-Instruct student participants in the articulation of their chosen social justice topicthrough creative uses of digital technology.-Work extensively with an assigned COMPUGIRLS cohort,assisting, guiding, and coordinating the girls’ research conceptualization, design, andimplementation.-Teaching a segment of the technology and research curriculum to the larger Mentor-Teacher class (i.e. iMovie, GarageBand, Scratch, Joykadia).-Liaison between the assigned female program cohort and other Instructors,Program Coordinators, and Principal Investigator/Executive Director.-Assist with the overall coordination of the COMPUGIRLS program.

-Develops computer training classes and workshops, and associated instructional materials such as extensive training handouts and workbooks.-Demonstrates and instructs senior citizens and adults on the use of PC's using various software programs such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Photo Editing software, and Quicken. -Instructs seniors and adults in the use of computer software programs for maintaining their portfolios, personal communications, and computer security. Instructs participants on new, emerging technology including new software packages and their potential use. -Provides instruction on Internet access and usage with Internet Explorer, Firefox and other Internet browsers. Provides email instruction using Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. -Provides instruction on Web 2.0 applications and services such as social networking, online applications, and blogging. -Provides excellent customer service, including interacting with participants.
