I recently got the opportunity to become Team Leader of our Laser Interferometry product domain. My main responsibilities are not only to ensure performance, but also that our team members feel valued, heard and capable to take decision.

SmarAct Metrology develops high-precision metrology instruments. As product manager of our optical interferometer family, I am responsible for identifying and planning innovations to broaden our portfolio, managing our backlog to constantly deliver highly performant platforms and supporting our customers in either getting to know our products or developing new concepts for their integrations.

In 2020, SmarAct Metrology became a spin-off from SmarAct. As senior application engineer, I took responsibility of our optical interferometer family, which includes interferometers and vibrometers. Actively involved in product and features development, I also managed and lead multiple projects to add new functionalities to our existing products, or establishing new internal processes.

As application engineer within the RnD department of SmarAct, I have first co-developed SmarAct first optical vibrometer. I have been responsible of the graphical user interface design and programming, as well as designing low level components for the analysis of signals. Following the success of this product, I have also been responsible for its promotion through application notes, scientific articles, and exhibitions. In parallel, I was also SmarAct point of entry for technical support of this product.

I applied Atomic Force Microscopy/Spectroscopy (AFM) on biological assemblies to quantify their mechanical properties in correlation with their functionalities. To fasten the analysis of the AFM data, I have developed complex digital routines, specially in the frequency domain, so that the computation time was reduced by 75% as compared to traditional methods. This successful PhD lead to the publication of 2 scientific articles as co-author, to be invited as guest speaker during the MMC 2019 (large microscopic conference in Manchester) and the possibility to present my research at the UK House of Commons in 2017 during the STEM for Britain competition.
