About Murphy Molly

Currently, I live in Albuquerque and work full time as the Camp Director and Outdoor Program Manager for the Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails which owns and operates two summer resident camp properties and off season rentals. In this role I plan programs, manage budgets, hire seasonal staff, manage volunteer and partner connections, train volunteers, and work directly with girls to teach them outdoor skills, about environmentalism and living sustainably, how to give back through nature based service projects, and (my favorite) how to uplift and support each other through challenges experienced both in and out of the outdoors. I have been working seasonally with GSNMT for the past 13 years at the Rancho del Chaparral Girl Scout Camp, 2 years as a member of full time staff with the Sales Department, and 3 years as full time staff with the Program (Girl Experience) Department. I love creating and providing programming opportunities for young women and helping them to become better leaders for tomorrow. I am an alumni member of the Delta Zeta sorority in which I held two positions. I held one general position as historian, gathering and compiling pictures and news stories for recording and updating our national headquarters as well as communicated with our alumnae. I served on the executive board of the chapter as Secretary where my job included recording minutes at meetings and keeping track of all paperwork associated with the members and heading any and all disciplinary boards. I also served twice as a member of the disciplinary board. On campus I enjoyed participating in fundraising events through Delta Zeta as well as through RUF (the Reformed University Fellowship) and as a temporary member of the Therapeutic Riding Association. At home I enjoy learning and building computers, am an avid reader, and an advanced intermediate rider in western equitation and an advanced beginner in English equitation. I spend most of my free time teaching myself new recipes, going to yoga classes at local breweries, and walking my two dogs through the Bosque.
